This Diwali when the entire country celebrated by lighting crackers, there was one city where people lit candles in their homes, because there was no electricity supply for 10 days. One frightful night changed the fate of the beautiful city of beaches, Visakhapatnam, when the violent cyclone Hudhud hit the town and left with broken dwellings. That night people hugged each other and prayed all night. Everyone who hailed from Vizag, far from home, felt equally heartbroken and distraught when they couldn’t reach out to their loved ones. They didn’t cry over their fate the next morning, when they saw the city in debris, instead they bravely held hands and stood by one another helping each other. Vizag stood out by working out the chaos in peace, thus creating history and not politics. I am thankful to everyone who has generously lent a helping hand towards the recovery of Vizag.
This post is a tribute to my family and friends who have stood together during the time of crisis and endured it bravely. Let us all pray for a faster recovery of the most beautiful city ever.
